Northamptonshire County Council is trying to gain a better understanding of how people currently use our country parks and what barriers may be preventing you from being more active in our parks.

Officers and staff from Northamptonshire Police are working with colleagues across the country in response to the incident on London Bridge on Friday. Whilst there is no suggestion at this time that anywhere in the county is at increased risk officers have been identified to patrol areas where large crowds are expected. Kind-hearted residents across South Northamptonshire are being asked to help spread some Christmas cheer by donating gifts to less fortunate families.
The Comfort and Joy campaign is an annual parcel scheme that aims to help those who are staying in refuges as a result of experiencing domestic abuse, as well as other vulnerable families who are struggling at Christmas.

Registration deadlines for the 2019 general election have been published, as South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) continues its annual electoral canvass.
The election has been called for Thursday, 12 December. The council is highlighting to local voters that the deadline to register to vote and the deadline for postal vote applications are both Tuesday, 26 November.

The document, known as the Northamptonshire Structural Changes Order 2019 (SCO), sets out how the two new unitary authorities will be formed to replace the existing eight councils on 1 April 2021.
The Draft Order will now be considered and debated by both Houses of Parliament and if approved, should become legislation by the end of the year.
