Lonely Veterans - NHS, Royal Volunteer Service and RBL VE Day Initiative
Following the cancellation of the VE Day 75 events, the NHS, Royal Voluntary Service and the Royal British Legion are working together to mark VE Day 75 as you are aware with Richard's involvement to date and our Agenda items.
So, as Veterans cannot attend, the concept is that Veterans, who would have originally attended a VE Day 75 event, can register to chat to NHS Volunteer Responders.
The volunteers will be able to thank Veterans for their service during the War and give them an opportunity to share their stories at sometime between today and Thursday 7 May.
The volunteers calling should have access to, and be able to suggest, help and advice from the websites "Let's Talk Loneliness" (https://letstalkloneliness.co.uk/advice/) and the Campaign to End Loneliness (www.campaigntoendloneliness.org). T
he volunteers should also be able to refer individuals for more help from the NHS Volunteer Responder network if required.
