Middleton Cheney Scouts - look after the local feathered friends
Scouts have been working hard to make bird boxes and bat boxes for the feathered inhabitants of the village. They have used the RSPB designs to make bird boxes and bat boxes to earn parts of their scout badges and of course to help conserve wildlife.
The Scouts are now planning when they will place the boxes around the village and will be putting them up in the next few weeks in readiness for the nesting season. This will enable the villagers to see what wildlife uses them and provide opportunities for the village children to see various species of birds and hopefully bats.
If you see some use of the bird and bat boxes please do take some photos and email them to email@example.com. We would love to see them.
Middleton Cheney Scouts are always looking at ways of supporting the village. They have recently supported the members of Cheney Court to have a fabulous Christmas lunch. This was very successful and the scouts enjoyed gaining skills in waitering. It was a fantastic day.
Scouts is for 11-14 year olds and we always welcome new young people to our troop . We do some really cool stuff, we camp, go climbing , have fun, light fires, cook on fire, build things, have more fun, learn new things , getting involved with the community and then of course there is more fun. Don't forget Scouts is for girls too.
If your young person would like to join scouts please do email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to secure a place.
