Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government launches consultation on unitary proposal and indicates postponement of elections

Consultation by the Secretary of State (SoS) over plans to restructure local government in Northamptonshire which could include two unitary authorities has started today, Thursday, 29 November 2019.

Consultation opens on name for new council to serve west Northamptonshire

People across the west of Northamptonshire are from today being asked what they think the proposed new unitary council should be called.

The decision on whether or not to go ahead with the new council is a decision for the Government and Parliament, but members of the public are being asked what it should be called to help inform that decision.
